Daily Mile

In the last school year we launched a new healthy initiative called the Daily Mile. Each day all children go outside and run, jog or walk for approximately 15 minutes.

It is a fun, sociable activity time which we hope will help to keep your children active and being physical everyday.

The government requires schools to get children moving for 30 minutes each day. The daily mile provides half of that required time and along with our new OPAL initiative at lunchtimes we are doing our best to ensure all children have the opportunity to be active daily.

The benefits for children are thought to be

improved behaviour in class
it’s 100% inclusive
supports healthy bone and muscle development
improves children’s resilience and cardio metabolic health
