Doorstep Graduation

Mrs Cass, Mrs Hollins and myself had the most fantastic day on Saturday. We managed to visit almost all of our foundation family. It has been so long since we have seen some of our children and my how they have grown. We saw wobbly teeth, missing teeth, mohawks, hover boards, children fresh from a nap, bouncing and swinging children,  but the best thing, the thing that means the most to us was lots of smiling children.

Reception children would usually celebrate the end of their time in Early Years with a graduation. Celebrating their move to Key Stage One. This is the first year since I joined St Cuthbert’s (a long, long time ago), that we haven’t been able to have a graduation ceremony for our children. So we decided we would have a doorstep graduation. We visited and presented reception children and one of our nursery children who is making a big move to a new school with their graduation hats and certificates. We also visited our nursery children who are taking the next step in their learning journey and hopping over to the ‘other carpet’ in our setting to become our new reception class in September.

It was incredibly special to see you all. Thank you for welcoming us into your gardens to spend a few minutes with each of you. It is most definitely a day we won’t ever forget.

We will be posting your graduation photographs later in the week!
