This half term we will be looking at weather and how it changes with the seasons. Click on the link to look at the different weather symbols. See if you can label them.

Look outside, what is the weather like today? Can you find the symbol to match today’s weather?

Download the pictures and cut them out. Dress a boy or girl for today’s weather. Is it hot and sunny or is it wet and windy? Choose the best clothing. You can colour them if you like.

This half term we are going to be thinking about food and nutrition. Some foods are healthy some are not so good for us. Fruit and vegetables are healthy foods to eat. They have lots of vitamins and minerals that our bodies need. Read the power point to find out about where our fruit and veg comes from.

You could use a real jug and some cups to do you own measuring.

Geography

This half term we are going to be finding out what our country is like. If you can, ask a grown up to show you an image of earth from space. Zoom in closer, what can you see?

There are lots of countries joined together. What do we call countries that are not joined to other countries? These are islands. Look at the three different maps.

Summer 2-lesson 1- Maps

See if you can find any islands? England is an island and it is part of the United Kingdom with Scotland, Wales and Ireland. Can you find the United Kingdom on each of the maps? Draw a circle around it on each map.

Download the map of the United Kingdom. Colour each of the different countries a different colour. Ask a grown up to help you, label each of the 4 counties- England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales.
