Big Write!
It’s Friyaaay again! Which means only 1 thing…..Big Write!
We have been in lockdown for quite a few weeks now. It has been a very different time for us all. You have been learning at home with your Mum and Dad being your teachers. You have been allowed to go out for some exercise once a day. You will have had lots of time at home to spend with your brothers, sisters, parents and pets. Lots of time to do fun things, playing with toys, baking, gardening, painting, colouring, making. I’m sure lots of you will have joined me every Thursday clapping for all the wonderful doctors, nurses and carers who have been taking care of people who are poorly. Have you seen lots of teddy bears in windows? Have you put a rainbow in your window and seen lots of rainbows in other people’s windows? Did you decorate eggs at easter time or have an easter egg hunt? Have you had fun in a paddling pool? Have you worked out with Joe Wicks in the morning?
Your Big Write today is to write about your lockdown adventures. I would like you to tell me about all the things you have done in this special time.
- Remember to write in sentences, using capital letters, finger spaces and full stops.
- Try to use time words such as, last week, yesterday, a few days ago, every afternoon in your writing.
- Think about all the things, no matter how small, that you have been doing. I can’t wait to hear about your lockdown days!
- Please send me your writing or keep it so I can see it when we all come back together!

Music
We are thinking about Rhythm and beat this half term. I’d like you to make an instrument to either tap or shake. You could put a little bit of rice or pasta in a plastic bottle or tub.
Or cover an empty tub with paper to make your own drum.
Listen to the song “This Old Man” .Use your instrument to play along. Shake or tap in time with the words to follow the rhythm in the song. Sing along too. Maybe you could make an instrument for everyone in your house and ask them to join your band. Can they all keep to the rhythm too?
