Foundation Stage children have been learning about different cultures and customs today.
We have been watching Chinese New Year celebrations from across the world.
“There are fireworks in the sky.” Charlie
“Chinese people have red envelopes with money in.” Gabrielle
To help us to celebrate we had a look as some Chinese artefacts that we saw in the news clips and we made some Chinese lanterns to hang in our classroom.
We also used red play dough to make rats. 2020 is the Chinese year of the ‘rat.’
“I love rice and chicken and little bit of sauce and chicken noodles when I have Chinese food.” Charlie
“It is the year of the rat. ” Esme
“We used red play dough because Chinese people have lots of the colour red.” Thomas
