Year 2 children have been learning more about the French language and the country of France. The children located France on a world map and a map of Europe, before then thinking about which other countries in the world also speak French.
The children were given a set of pictures related to France and had to identify them. Pictures included: the French flag, baguettes, the Eiffel Tower, a painting by Monet, Euros, wine and cheese, and Notre Dame. We then discussed how and why these pictures were associated with France, before ending the lesson practising ‘Bonjour!’, ‘Salut!’ and ‘Au revoir!’
