Today, the children attended St Catherine’s Church, Crook. They were taken through the Easter Journey. They traveled through Holy Week re-enacting Jesus’ arrival into Jerusalem, the ‘Last Supper’, the ‘betrayal in the Garden of Gethsemane’ and ‘the crucifixion’.
The children listened intently to stories Jesus told prior to his crucifixion. They experienced what it would have been like to be in the crowds of people as Jesus entered Jerusalem, they waved branches and shouted “Hosanna”. The children leaned against the trees in the garden and fell asleep just as his apostles had. They experienced the resurrection, the stone rolled away from the entrance and Jesus appearing to Mary Magdalene.
The children were given thought-provoking activities to take home with them and thoroughly enjoyed their afternoon!
