Parliament Week was an excellent experience for the Year 6 children.
Monday: The children formed their own political parties; discussed slogans and came up with a symbol.
Tuesday: After studying the Labour party manifesto, the children got to work writing their own. They visited other class throughout the school, canvassing each classroom to gain votes.
The rest of the week saw children voting in great numbers until The Buzz Party were chosen in a closely contested election during Friday’s assembly. Well done!
The children felt that their public speaking skills improved. They thought of realistic promises which would benefit the school and understood the importance of honesty and fair play.
